It’s both easy and hard to miss The Little Ox on New Street in Brighton (just off North Road). Easy because it’s not where you’d expect to find an excellent cafe , right next to an Auto Service shop, with not much else around but housing. Hard because of the beautifully designed outdoors. There are large tall wooden garden beds, outdoor tables, black and white stripe outdoor roller blinds. There is a graffiti style mural on the side of the wall, which leads you right to the cafe.
I went to Little Ox for the first time in December 2015. Ever since, it has become one of my favourite cafes. It’s got a beautiful rustic modern feel that most good cafes have these days, with a little splash of colour here and there.
The coffee comes out pretty quickly, which always leaves a punter happy. The staff are very friendly, quick service even when they are extremely busy and most importantly, amazing food! I’ve tried a few different dishes from their breakfast menu and every time it’s been just as good. Consistency on both food and coffee has been great.
If you’re looking for a new cafe to try out in the southeastern suburbs check it out, it won’t disappoint! 🙂
