Luxury Rooftop Glamping Experience

My amazing hubby purchased a glamping experience for my 25th Birthday in March. As we’ve been extremely busy with everything lately, we struggled making the available time for it, causing us to reschedule our original booking. Yes, I know! First world problems right there.

For those who know me well, you would know I am definitely NOT a camping person. I’ve actually only been camping once at the age of 16, my very first year in Australia. I’m not certain if that experience even counts as “proper” camping as we stayed in cabins.. I guess it was a muddy winter after all.

So glamping…ย also known as a luxury/glamorous camping getaway. If you love being in the outdoors but pitching a teeny tiny tent isn’t for you (definitely not for me), consider a unique glamping experience in the large tents of St Jerome’s The Hotel locatedย the heart of the Melbourne CBD on the rooftop of Melbourne Central. Each spacious bell tent features a double or queen size bed dressed in premium linen, throws and robes, split system heating and cooling, a tablet loaded with movies/TV shows from Stan, and a complimentary stocked esky with Furphy beer and apple/pear cider.

Our check-in wasn’t until 3 pm, however we got in the city early morning to try and get most out of it. The weather wasn’t the best, as there were on and off showers throughout the day but it did not stop us from enjoying our day. We had a nice walk in the city and once it started raining we decided it would be better to do something indoors, and what better than the movies.

By the time the movie was over it was past lunch time and almost check in time so we decided to grab something to eat and then check in. We finally arrived to our tent and it was pretty stunning. The Hotel had an activity filled itinerary of a game of bowling next door at Strike Bowling, a cocktail at Cocktail Hour, Gelato Messina dessert delivery, morning meditation on the rooftop & more. Additional amenities included were a 24-hour concierge service, a General Store serving as the bar and communal area,ย an infrared sauna, amenity units with toilets and showers.

We enjoyed everything, especially the view at night time. The sky had cleared and even though it was rather cold, we sat outside having a few more drinks, playing games and having a good time. For dinner we walked around the city and enjoyed a good parma at Mrs Parma’s and walked back.

Our tent was really cozy and we were delivered yummy T2 bedtime tea. Breakfast was served at the requested time and was rather enjoyable. I would definitely go glamping again, however, I’d probably want to go somewhere else and most likely in summer.

If you are looking for a romantic getaway with your partner this could be it. It is probably a little over priced for but definitely a great experience. There is a lot of glamping experiences but St Jerome’s is the only city located in Victoria, all others are in the country.
